Galileo’s Middle Finger
Housed at the Florence Institute and Museum of the History of Science among a collection of medieval scientific instruments is a strange relic. After Galileo Galilei died, his students stole the middle finger off of his corpse and managed to preserve it. Amazingly it still survives today in this collection. It stands displayed upward defying all those that oppose the advance of science.
edit - The museum link seems to be down. Here is a link to a page about it at the Jet Propulsion Labs.

lolz
So they saved Galileo’s middle finger! That should be useful when we need something to shove in the faces of those religious fundamentalists who still insist upon denying the simple truths revealed by evolution, namely that man was descended from apes. Have you heard that they’re opening a museum in Kentucky that proports to rewrite the history of the world, to “prove” that there were dinosaurs in the Garden of Eden, and that the Earth itself is younger than it really is? I’d really love to give the finger to the redneck who thought up that museum!
Good One Ida ! kekeke .. I agree that to be stupid.

Having read this I suddenly feel the need to make a childish comment. I usually do not do this, but here goes.
Pff.. if they were able to preserve his erect penis, that would be something. This is not too impressive.
The theory of evolution does not teach that humans descended from apes. It teaches that apes and humans have a common ancestor.
Gotta love it when someone like Ida gets all high and mighty and thenPROVES how stupid they are by being so wrong. Nice job Greg.

hehe.. this is pretty funny. I shall have to print it off and post this at my office.. they’d all get a kick out of this.
Maybe this is the reason why giving someone the middle finger is bad =O!
