Clinton smacks down Fox News
edit number 2: Fox removed the videos from youtube (wonder why?), but thinkprogress still has the video on their site.
Transcript available at Crooks and Liars.
I miss having a President that could string together more than 3 words at a time. If you want to hear what Pres. Clinton had to say about the torture bill in Congress, he had an interview with NPR this week that they have posted as a podcast.
edit: Here is a link to an old article on freerepublic.com illustrating the response that Clinton was referencing with his “wag the dog” comments (called, interstingly enough, Wag The Dog ! Wag the Dog! We are bombing Afganhistan). Why link to the archive.org, you may be asking. Free Republic has deleted the article while denying anyone ever made the “wag the dog” reference in regards to Clinton going after Bin Laden. Thanks to Hanlon’s Razor. I love this comment from the deleted article:
The real question is what we’re NOT hearing is if the strikes were conducted with the approval of Afghanistan & Sudan; and IF those other soverign states KNEW of our intention to launch attacks inside their territory. If not, slick has now marked America as a terrorist nation and committed an international act of war. This absolutely AIN’T no coincidence, folks. BC is dangerous and must go NOW!

I had to read the transcript since Fox pulled the vid from YouTube. Sounds like Bill got his point across. Could that be why Fox pulled it, I wonder?
Still, wish I could’ve seen it!
Thinkprogress also has the video.

[…] For now, you may also believe in the “correct” deity, and find yourself safe from persecution for those beliefs. But consider what happens if public opinion turns or you have a change of heart, and you find yourself in the future’s minority? As a former President said yesterday, “Democracy is about way more than majority rule. Democracy is about minority rights, individual rights, restraints on power.” Lately, we’ve had far too many failures when it comes to living up to those words. […]
Thanks! I watched the video and it really was better than the transcript. I loved how Wallace was frantically trying to steer the interview back to the Int’l. Defense Fund topic he ignored at the beginning!
Just one minor point. It wasn’t an Int’l. Defense Fund they were talking about. It was the Clinton Global Initiative, Bill Clinton’s fundraiser that raised over 7 billion dollars in donations in less than a week.
Clinton Global Initiative
oops.
