There's a lot in his letter I disagree with. That's why he still gets the Good Old Fashioned Crazy tag, but he makes some really good points that I'd love to hear come out of our leaders' mouths. I just read the full text. I agree with all of the political parts of the letter. The country now called Israel did in fact just steal that part of the world from people who were already living there because they think they have some sort of holy claim to it. That's wrong and our support of that injustice does fuel hatred towards us in that part of the world. I do not agree with his apparent desire to impose his religion on the world, or with any of the religious statements. But, to be fair, many of the people who follow the dominant religion in this country have that same desire and spend a lot of money and political power imposing their religion on their fellow Americans and the rest of the world, to the detriment of people everywhere. As long as that continues to be the case, this country has no moral authority regarding religious freedom. My first comment referred only to the text above.
